3 miles from Mill Valley is Mount Tamalpais State Park, which contains
6,300 acres of redwood groves, oak woodlands and a spectacular view
from its’ 2,571-foot peak. The visitors can see the Marin County
hills, the city of San Francisco and the Bay, the Farallon Islands
, and on some occasions, even the snow-covered mountains of the
Sierra Nevada.
