Just
10 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge the "Twin Cities" offer
one of the best commutes in Marin with access to public transit
via bus or the ferry located at Larkspur Landing
which docks near downtown San Francisco. The architectural award-winning
Larkspur Landing has a shopping center and ferry terminal where
Golden Gate Transit ferries depart for San Francisco. In addition,
the convenient Marin Airporter Shuttle to San Francisco International
Airport is here.
Listed
on the National Register of Historic Places, Larkspur's picturesque
main street has many fine historic Victorian homes, and Magnolia
Avenue, running through the downtown area, is known for its fine
restaurants and shops.
With
high public school scores and low crime rankings these family-oriented
communities are among the most sought after places to live in Marin
County. School scores in the Larkspur Elementary
District, which serves both communities, rank among the highest
in the state. Redwood and Marin Catholic High Schools are within
a few miles of downtown, and the College of Marin is just minutes
away by car.
There
are many things to do and see in the vicinity of Mill Valley Travelodge
where you can easily get San Francisco hotel discount.
San Francisco (Marin County), spectacular views from Mill Valley
retreat just 15 minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Two main
trails lead from the house down the north side of the ridge to downtown
Mill Valley. The trails on the west side lead to the old gravity
railroad grade to the top of Mt. Tamalpais. The trails on the south
side lead down to Muir Woods.
Muir
Beach is only ten minutes away and Stinson Beach is 17 minutes away.
Downtown Mill Valley is five minutes away and is a very charming
and delightful town with shops, multiple restaurants, theaters,
coffee shops, a terrific library and community center, parks and
playgrounds.

and Sonoma County wine regions are about an hour away. Berkeley
and Oakland are about 45 minutes away. Other upscale Marin County
towns like Sausalito, Belvedere, Tiburon, Larkspur, and San Anselmo
are also just minutes away from Mill Valley.
